IO House, an elegant yet playful family home, triumphed in the categories of Residential Property for London and Architecture Single Residence for London. The awards celebrate the very best of architecture and design across the UK.
Over the summer months, the team at KSR Architects & Interior Designers embarked upon a lively programme of fundraising events for Afrika Tikkun, a charity dedicated to transforming communities in South Africa by supporting vulnerable children and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in life.
We are delighted to announce we have received full planning permission for the refurbishment of a magnificent Grade II listed building.
Located on the Grosvenor Estate within the Mayfair Conservation Area, our plans focus on the interior architecture with minimal intervention to the grand external façade.
Removing the contemporary additions, introduced over past decades, our designs will reinstate the original features lost or considerably altered throughout all floors within the property.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in the much anticipated, 2023 KSR Pub Quiz.
The event was held to raise funds for Afrika Tikkun, a charity dedicated to transforming communities in South Africa by supporting vulnerable children and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in life. Proceeds from a raffle, drawn on the night, boosted the total amount raised to over £2,600.
Quiz Master, and Partner here at KSR, Dan Curtin, challenged the eleven participating teams with rounds including ‘Questions my 3-year-old could answer’ and the more-difficult-than-it-sounds ‘Which dinosaur am I?’
It was a big night for the grand residence on Avenue Road. At the Design et al International Design & Architecture Awards 2023, the magnificent house picked up the award for Residential Swimming Pool 2023 and was named Global Project Award 2023 Winner.
Huge congratulations to Mdesign London and the entire team on delivering such a beautiful home.
As the architects on the project, KSR’s role was to translate and realise the complex and highly detailed interiors. Coordinating the various building disciplines, we worked together to create an exceptional residence; a sophisticated home that enjoys a refined sense of luxury.

The KSR Team recently spent a sunny morning on-site in St John’s Wood.
Visiting a total of three addresses, all at various stages of construction and completion, we explored what is soon to be a magnificent family home, complete with outdoor swimming pool, the conversion of an imposing, Victorian building into 12 luxury flats and a site that is currently little more than a façade but will, in time, be transformed into an exceptional London residence.
We would like to share some good news; the studio is delighted to announce five internal promotions, made in recognition of our colleagues’ contribution to the growth of the company.
We continue to enjoy success across London and around the UK and with our increasing global reach, these promotions further strengthen our senior design team.
This year we turned 40 and we celebrated this milestone with clients, collaborators, consultants and colleagues at a Summer Reception held at the Mall Galleries in London.
Currently home to the New English Art Club Annual Exhibition, screens, lighting and live music transformed the gallery space and created a lively setting for our event. Three videos, rolling simultaneously, showcased our offer; vision, expertise and realisation. The reels explored our team’s imagination, culture and focus on delivery.
DJ and saxophonist Sasha played throughout the evening and photographer Osman Marfo-Gyasi captured the highlights.

We are excited to see our Antigua Villa project progressing on site.
The contemporary architecture and interior design of this luxury property combine to create a spacious and light-filled environment. Floor to ceiling windows celebrate the panoramic views of the Caribbean and visually unite the inside and outside spaces.
Antigua enjoys a tropical climate but a considered palette of materials, including stone, timber and concrete, ensures cool and comfortable, indoor temperatures. The natural tones and textures work together to create a refined yet relaxed vacation-home.
This year we attended Maison & Objet’s January 2023 exhibition, where we were inspired by the extensive collection of furniture, decorative objects and accessories.

A Good News Story to start the New Year!
We are really proud to see Korell, one of our placement students, working with the University of East London to help promote a career in Architecture to young people who may not have previously thought of studying the subject. They are hoping to engage with, and hear voices, that are often underrepresented within architecture, helping to diversify the design profession.

We are delighted to share that our Tableau Penthouse project was featured in the January edition of Living etc magazine!
As part of our continued commitment to social responsibility, KSR volunteered their time to create new rest and relaxation spaces for the hardworking staff at the NHS at Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals. The scheme was set up by our good friends at Taylor Howes, and we hope to see the initiative rolled out across more hospitals throughout the country.
Following our office trip to Brussels we hosted an exhibit of our team’s best photos, kindly judged by renowned photographer Adam Letch, who also treated us to a presentation on his work. The winning photos are pictured below.

A stair, often referred to as ‘the core’, literally and figuratively sits at the heart of a building. It connects spaces together vertically creating a journey through the building. At KSR, our team of talented designers work closely with clients to design spaces that meet their needs.
Our design process starts with concept sketches, which are developed through an iterative process from rough sketches, to concept models and 3D visualisations, which give a realistic impression of how the finished stair will appear
As part of our work with Afrika Tikkun we were delighted to welcome Precious, Princess, Okuhle, and Eza to the office for a day’s work experience on their visit from South Africa. We were impressed with their positive attitudes, great energy, and enthusiasm to learn!
