A summer of fun in aid of Afrika Tikkun

Over the summer months, the team at KSR Architects & Interior Designers embarked upon a lively programme of fundraising events for Afrika Tikkun, a charity dedicated to transforming communities in South Africa by supporting vulnerable children and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in life.

Our programme included a series of themed lunches, cooked by colleagues and enjoyed by all, and the much anticipated, KSR Annual Pub Quiz and Raffle.

Working with the charity, we also hosted four young people from Johannesburg. An introduction to architecture and interior design, the students, Rorisang Malate, Itumeleng Mamabolo, Siphesihle Jama and Lebohang Mosebi, spent time in our studio and on-site.

The summer calendar culminated with the Spirit of Belron Challenge; a triathlon that is both gruelling and great fun. (If that is possible?!)

This year, the triathlon returned to Dorney Lake, Windsor, and included a 750m swim, 20km cycle ride and 5km run. Around 12,000 people from over 30 countries took part. The KSR team put in a stellar performance with a few of our more elite athletes breaking their own ‘PB’.

The money raised from the events of the past three months supports Afrika Tikkun’s work with children and young people from some of the poorest parts of South Africa. We are incredibly proud to be working with such an important and impactful charity.

Massive thanks to all our friends, families, clients, consultants and suppliers for their generosity and support over the summer. We couldn’t have done it without you!
