Villa Natu: A New Interpretation of the Tropical Villa

KSR is delighted to share the design of Villa Natu, a stunning new Caribbean escape that reimagines the traditional tropical villa with a fresh, modern perspective.

Designed for developers Pearns Point Antigua; this luxury turnkey villa is tailored for a prime plot on Pearns Point itself. Designing without a specific client poses new challenges, requiring a versatile approach that appeals to a diverse range of potential owners. Our focus has been on crafting an exceptional living experience, with pared-back interiors and large multi-functional spaces, the villa is able to adapt to suit its future owner’s needs.

Architectural Concept

Perched on a solid stone base, reminiscent of classic island homes, the villa has been designed with tranquillity in mind. The design centres around framing the site’s breathtaking ocean views while offering generous shade and natural ventilation.

The principal living spaces are elevated above the stone base, shaded by expansive overhangs and a light structure. This elevated composition celebrates the natural surroundings while ensuring the villa harmonises with its tropical environment, promoting an indoor-outdoor living experience.

Arrival Experience

The villa’s arrival experience is thoughtfully crafted to immerse visitors in its tropical setting. Walking into the villa, guests are greeted with views straight through the building, out to the ocean.

Clad in local stone, the building harmonises with its natural surroundings. An organic-shaped opening within the canopy above the garage creates interesting structural form, whilst making way for tropical plants to flourish and for sunlight to filter through.

Indoor-Outdoor Living

With an open plan layout, every space enjoys uninterrupted ocean views where expansive sliding doors create a seamless connection to the outdoors, allowing the tropical breeze to flow freely through the building.

The terrace offers a retreat-like ambience, with shaded canopies, lush vegetation, and an infinity pool that appears to merge with the ocean’s horizon.

Pathways blur the boundary between the terrace and pool, creating a seamless flow, while the pool pavilion provides an intimate space with soft furnishings and sheer curtain surrounds.

Interiors

Carefully curated moments throughout the villa invite you to relax and immerse yourself in the views. Minimalist interiors are thoughtfully designed to complement the surrounding natural beauty; featuring a warm palette of high-quality materials, our aim was to achieve a sense of quiet luxury.
