Behind the Scenes: Capturing The Willow

There is always something special about returning to a completed project once the spaces have settled into everyday life and natural rhythms have taken hold.

We recently spent the day in St Johns Wood photographing our completed project, The Willow, where KSR undertook the full refurbishment and extension of an existing private dwelling. Joined by photographer Boz Gagovski, our team chased the sun through the house, capturing how light moves across the finished spaces and documenting the layered details that make this home so unique.

Designed in collaboration with interior designer Alice B Davies, the interiors have been richly curated to celebrate the clients incredible collection of art and furniture. Seeing these treasured pieces inhabit the space brings a wonderful depth, warmth and individuality to the architecture, a true reflection of a home that is loved and lived in.

As the afternoon sun tracked around to the rear extension, our focus turned outside where the house opens out onto a lush green garden complete with an outdoor swimming pool. Taking its name from the magnificent willow tree that anchors the grounds, the setting is surrounded by mature planting and secluded tranquillity, making it hard to believe this private oasis sits squarely in the heart of St Johns Wood.
