Behind the Scenes: Capturing Blackbird House

Some projects come full circle and Blackbird House is one of them.

KSR first designed the architecture for the home in 2011. Ten years later, when the property was purchased by its new owners, we were invited back to design the interiors. . It was a wonderful opportunity to reimagine the interiors for a new family while remaining true to the original architectural vision. The result is a home that feels both familiar and refreshed, thoughtfully tailored to its new owners.

We recently returned to Blackbird House with photographer and videographer Max Trafford to capture the completed project. The reel from the day offers a glimpse behind the scenes, revealing the care and creativity that goes into documenting a finished home and celebrating the details that make each project unique.

One of the highlights of the shoot was seeing how the house has been lived in. The spaces now feel layered with personality through artwork, collected objects and the everyday touches that can only come with time. It is always rewarding to see a home being enjoyed exactly as it was intended.

There’s always something special about returning to a completed project, seeing how the spaces have settled into everyday life and capturing the details that make each home unique. We recently returned to photograph one of our completed projects, the refurbishment of an existing penthouse apartment.
