KSR is thrilled to announce that we have received planning permission for a family home in the heart of County Wexford, Ireland. Set in the Irish countryside, the design draws inspiration from the surrounding agricultural architecture, creating a connection with its rural setting.
The project began with a straightforward brief: the clients initially envisioned a near-identical replacement of their existing house, with a little more refinement. However, our project architects saw an opportunity to go beyond expectations. By re-evaluating the brief and understanding the client’s aspirations, the proposal relocates and reorientates the building to unlock the full potential of the site. This makes the most of countryside views and results in a home that not only meets the clients’ needs but exceeds their dreams—even in ways they hadn’t anticipated.
Sustainability was a cornerstone of the design. The home incorporates eco-conscious features such as ground-source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels, all while utilising locally sourced materials.
This project is a thoughtful response to the clients’ aspirations and the unique beauty of the Irish countryside. We’re excited to see this vision become a reality!
