The Courtyard is a carefully considered residential refurbishment in Belsize Square that transforms the existing footprint into a series of connected living spaces, balancing minimalism with warm, natural materiality. Thoughtful spatial planning, texture and natural light create an interior that feels calm, refined and enduring.

The internal layout was reconfigured to improve circulation, increase head heights and maximise underutilised space, while framed sightlines from the entrance to the central courtyard enhance openness and connection. Bespoke joinery and discreet sliding partitions provide flexibility, allowing spaces to adapt while maintaining a cohesive architectural language.

At the heart of the home, the courtyard strengthens the relationship between the interior and the landscape. Continuous paving extends from the kitchen through the terrace into the garden, creating visual continuity, while an automated weatherproof canopy allows the outdoor kitchen, dining area and fire pit to function as a seamless extension of the living space throughout the year.

Natural materials, including concrete, polished plaster and raw timbers, provide warmth and depth, creating an interior that feels calm, tactile and considered.

The result is a home where architecture, interiors and landscape are thoughtfully integrated, strengthening the connection between inside and out.
