Modern Art-Deco House

Our proposal for a family home in heart of Hampstead Village.

Designed as a new build adjacent to existing neighboring building, the architectural design emerged from the clients brief which required privacy and security at ground floor with the upper floors embracing framed openings toward views of Londons skyline. The form of the building embraced the size and shape of the site and incorporated gentle curves geometric shapes to carve out a unique sculpted form of brickwork and glass. The design sought to resemble the playfulness and expressiveness of art deco geometry with modern punctures and ornamentation and texture achieved with brickwork. The design seeks to challenge conventional designs and proportions with interconnecting shapes and sharp distinctive geometric moments, a modern take on art-deco. The building tonality and texture, and mass blends with the surrounding while offering a playful new form to the streetscape.
