KSR Architects has completed the refurbishment of Strand Bridge House, a tired and dated 80’s postmodern building, into an eye-catching office building, located on the Strand next to Somerset House.
This approximate 30,000 square feet renovation provides high quality office floors including feature terraces with stunning views of the River Thames and Londons South Bank skyline.
The major refurbishment included a remodelling of the highly stylised facade – the existing stonework was replaced with new modern profiles, the brickwork was repaired and new slim profile double glazed casement windows were installed. The existing unsightly substation vents at pavement level were reconfigured to be seamlessly incorporated into the new entrances design.
The palette of materials used in the extended contemporary reception include marble tiles, 3D porcelain feature tiles, and timber panelled walls. The eight office floors are to Cat A standard with new high quality staff shower and cycle store facilities within the basement.
