KSR Architects has this week received full planning permission for a new community enterprise building in Finchley. The scheme, known as The Exchange, involves the extension and refurbishment of a disused synagogue to provide headquarters for a non-profit organisation. They aim to assist individuals in creating long-term sustainable incomes, either through building businesses or creating employment.
The approved proposals include a new entrance lobby with atrium space to provide a welcoming point of orientation. Open plan offices have been provided with visual connections to allow for flexible working environments between the various companies and those receiving guidance and training. A multipurpose space situated at the ground floor will form the heart of the building and will provide facilities for conferences and events.
By focusing on creating jobs within the local community, the scheme will provide an inspirational place to advance work skills and potentially build a business.
